What do you think?????? I seem to recall folks having problems with DCS, but maybe that's just new models? If it is and it is stilled hooked up or can be hooked up to test and make sure the seller isn't hiding anything then go for it, it has plenty of good cooking to go Hopefully it is still installed and running so you can check everything. I believe the only problems which have been few that I have read here are a couple of people had a problem with the broiler upon instillation of new. (I believe it was on the one with auto clean). I can understand how you would want a splash of color in your room. Here's some pictures of mine for some inspiration.</p><p> I'm not saying the room is perfect but just showing it as an example of how I infused some color to liven it up a bit. Pay no attention to the cat and the cat toys. And, yes, my ottoman(which is actually a glass table) is off center a bit. We move it around sometimes to get comfortable. This is the view facing the TV. Again there's the cat he wanted to get into the picture. You can see a better picture of my table and note that it has pull-out chairs people can sit on. I love that particular piece--it was a great investment. And that's the view from the right side facing the corner of the room. I just sewed on the trim and it looks really expensive(but it wasn't). It gave me a color palette to use as a springboard. The next piece was the rug, which has the same colors. The sofa(it's actually an old lazyboy built of sections that can be rearranged) hand-me-down from my mother-in-law: she got tired of looking at the same sofa after awhile and gave it to my husband and me when we moved in. The panels next to the TV were purchased from Garden Ridge(they have great artwork by the way). The TV console and the ottoman were purchased from Weekends Only(discount furniture store that carries lots from places that did not sell the first time). We originally wanted plantation shutters, but they are still out of our budget for now. I like them because they let a lot of light in but still insulate from the heat and cold. You should not feel bad for not fully decorating a room in 2 years. Don't buy into the hype you see in the magazines and tv shows. Virtually all those scenes you see are professionally decorated all at once, with a budget. They are set up to look authentic. Real rooms in real life are a collection of stuff you find while you're living your life. When I am looking for something I have a list of stores I go to when I have some free time or if I am in the area. I check them maybe once a month sometimes weekly if I have the time.</p><p> And if I find something on clearance or something that is just perfect for what I have in mind, then I swoop in and get it. Take your time, figure out what you like, take measurements of your room and windows and keep them with you when you go out, also bring a tape measure. I did find the green vase and bought it, along with two pillows for the couch, one in teal and one with teal and green flowers on an off-white background which still don't seem to really come together very well. We're specifically looking for sealed burners. Plus, since this is a 3- or 4-year house for us, and resale is an issue, we're a little worried about a 10-year-old range holding any value. Otherwise it seems like a super deal. If anyone's interested, I linked the ad below. It is in New Hampshire. Very nice seller. I have all the specs on it if anyone's interested. That is the older model with open burners - don't know much about it but my 6-year old RGSC-305 is still going strong.</p><p> Frankly, I think a reliable, well-seasoned pro-style range would enhance resale over a shiny, el cheapo new range but what do I know. Maybe you can even get them to come down a little on the price. I haven't seen it in person yet but I understand it's very similar to the DCS and much newer, of course. And: sealed burners, which I want. If you can get the whole thing, including the conversion kit, it's a decent buy. Check it out though to make sure it works. Sealed vs. open burners should not make too much of a difference when you get ready to sell. This should fill the gap for now. I had seen the posting on craig's list, and was doing some research before contacting seller.It is too early to worry about resale value unless you are selling tomorrow. New appliances only increase resale value if they are new when you go to sell. A brand new range right now will have decreased in value when you go to sell in a few years, and there will be something new out by then. But then you will want to take it with you!
